As you may be aware, the future of the Former Government Ofﬁces site, on the corner of Kingston Road and the A3, has been under consideration for many years. Earlier this year, an application to build 705 homes on the site, originally developed by the previous owner, was rejected by the Council.
Meyer Homes remains committed to delivering signiﬁcant investment in this site and since this decision, the project team has been considering our options and the best way to progress. We have therefore been developing proposals which reﬂect the aspirations of the Greater London Authority to see this site deliver a greater number of new homes to the area than previously proposed. Our project team has been working hard alongside the Council and others to ﬁnd a solution that is acceptable to everyone. We would like to thank all of those who took part in the consultation process for the new planning application.

New design approach for the site
By reconfiguring the layout of the site and introducing a different design approach to the buildings the project team have been able to address the need for housing within Tolworth, while proposing a built form which is in keeping with existing housing types in the area.
As a result the submitted new application consists of the following:
- 950 new homes
- Doctor’s surgery
- Children’s day nursery
- Convenience store
- Retail unit for either a shop or a café
- A site management office
- Bus interchange adjacent to Tolworth Railway Station
- Energy centre including a combined cooling and power system
- Communal amenity and play space
- 388 residential car parking spaces
- Enhanced pedestrian and cycle routes along Hook Rise South and through the site
- Buildings within the height parameters of the previous scheme with a maximum of 10 storeys
- Increased level of open space

We are delighted to announce the submission of the new planning application for the former government offices site. The submission of this planning application marks another major step towards achieving development of this site, to ensure it can make a positive and lasting contribution to Tolworth.
